Will a service shop do recall work on a saw that has been modified?

Rats! My 461 is on the recall list! My favorite saw! But I had cataract surgery yesterday so I'm not going to be felling trees for a while. I guess it works out alrighty.

Just think, a new eye and a safer saw to keep me from getting:pain:. All is gooder! :D

Sorry I'm late, but recall work should absolutely be done on all saws, even if modified. Warranty issues are of course null and void once you modify, unless your dealer is feeling kind to you. Dealers probably lose money on recalls and warranty, so I can see them trying to avoid both types of repairs. (?)

Usually the manufacturer compensates the dealer for the parts and labor of a warranty repair. Of course the labor is paid at flat rate or "book" rate. But it ain't for nuttin' and it's possible to keep the lights on doing warranty work.
