Is "worm there" some term for like hanging out that I dont know? I doubt you would want to hang in Cleveland? Or is that a typo for work?

:faint: Just had a stihl 211 dropped off having some issues. I popped the cover while they were there and ask them, so how long you been running this saw without the air filter and who was the last person to service it? [IMG]

Local stihl dealer did a carb retune under warranty was last time in they said.

Sounds like another guy is owed a saw!!! Can't believe some of these slack dealers. Or they has e kids or totally inexperience ed techs working or just bunny benches where they can't recognize that they have extra parts when there "done" with a saw!

This is what I don't get, "hey where did the extra air filter come from?" That, and don't you usually look things over before you close them up?

You get what you pay for. I could make more flipping burgers in NYC than I got paid as a small engine tech learning a skill.

Yea but NYC is crazy expensive to live in. How far north of NYC do you live?

Yea probably not cheap to live there. Y'all probably have a lot of people that still work there and in the area right? Hyper commuters and folks that ride the train?

I think my step dad lived in Northern NY and his dad commuted to NYC for work. I think he told me it took 2 hours one way or so?

That's about right. We're at the end of the commuter train lines. About 1.5-2 hr ride into the city by car.

I lived there (Stormville, Hopewell Junction & Millbrook) for most of my life and commuted South to Westchester County to work. All I can say is there are better places to live and the Hudson Valley area went crazy with taxes. Get out if you can.

    He he :)

I thought he was maybe scolding the owner. But at first I also read it like he thought it was your saw?

Ya I know it was dropped off for you to work on. I was trying to point out the neglect by the owner. It is not like that much debris gets in the filter box on one tank of fuel and I also guessed it was now out of warranty by taking it to you vs the stihl dealer.
Implying that this guy seems to not take any care for his equipment.
Sorry I was not meaning for my statement to look like it was directed about you.

I dont look at my air filter after every tank full. I would not say I am neglect full but I do neglect somethings. I try to keep everything in as good working order as possible though.

I don't check mine every tank either unless it is some real dusty crap. However I put my saws away cleaned fueled and ready to go.

You know all you have to do is use a saw for just one day and it will look like that. Not necessarily neglect.
