I just got back a little while ago from cutting with my totally stock 461 and to me anyway its one heck of an impressive saw just the way I got it,for what I cut I won't ever need any more saw then that.

That's basically where I'm at with it. After a year or so I may have it tinkered with just for fun. It is one heck of a saw bone stock though.

    I agree.......

Stock saws are just fine......until you get a well ported saw.

Then it is over for you. :smoke:

I have that problem. I ran a stock 361 I put together and sold, it was like cutting wood with a sewing machine. A great running sewing machine but it was the moment I realized how jaded I am now. :saw:

461, 7900, 372, 576....when someone who worked with and played with 60cc and below saws will be just tickled pink with a 70cc+ for sheer power. Ported is always gonna outrun a stock saw here...call a spade a spade. No disrespect to any and all saw porters/modders but come one, there is many a respectable saw in stock form that is made from quite a few brands.

Dude, i ran a ported saw, a dang good one at that...but come back to reality and it always a performance vs. price question...and i'm speaking from a workingmans perspective that really digs running the best equipment money can buy...just aint needed sometimes...but always desired.

I think Lukem was on the same page as you. He was agreeing with you. He has one stock (muff mod) MS 362. :)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a stock saw. Even without a muffler mod, the 461 is more saw than 90% of the average firewood cutters need. The other 10% are dealing with much larger wood.

I have ported saws because I have a disorder. A pretty bad one.

Could I spend money on other things? Absolutely. . :)
Would my wife rather I spent it on other things? Without a doubt..! ..! :)
Would I have it any other way? Nope ;) lol

The only saw I NEED is my Poulan 3450

Yup. Heats the home with ease. Don't need to make a living with it. Anything more would just be more fun.

Yeah.. That was very well said.. It extends to many things..

It's kinda like if you have to ask the question, you won't understand the answer..

Would I have it any other way? Nope ;) lol. There's nothing wrong at all in my opinion with getting saws ported and modified and all that stuff, actually I think its pretty cool.I agree 100% that a stock 461 should more then satisfy any firewood cutter, actually I think that was the point I was trying to make lol.

Packers had plenty of chances to win it
they settled for field goals in the red zone at least twice
they had a great opportunity to intercept that 2 point conversion ball that hung up in the air forever
should of recovered that onside kick
should of thrown more to the right side of the field with Richard Sherman 's bum arm
made the wrong call on the O/T coin toss
    GO HAWKS!!!
