Don't fear the AT/MT saws. Still just a carburetor, just like we're all used to, the only thing different is the mixture screws are now solenoids. I love the 241 but the 545 would have a tad more grunt in 16" wood and fit in with your existing saws, being the right color and all. I think the 545 is going to come with .325" chain on it which is a shame as that kind of negates the power advantage it would have over the 241 which runs the excellent PS3 chain.

It's really one of those situations where you cannot go wrong.

Can the picco be outfitted for the 545 Brian?
Maybe the husky dealer would swap out the standard setup.

Dang it..... Id really like to have this combo if so. CAD is having a big flare up lately

As long as there is a LP/Picco bar for the small Husky mount and a sprocket available, I don't see wh you couldn't do it. Pretty sure the bar is avail. Not sure about the LP sprocket for a small spline setup.

I have 550xp and a ms290. I leave the 290 at my moms house as I just never have the urge to use the 290 over the 550.

There are some older 2 series 60cc class saws from Husqvarna and Dolmar that you might want to consider. 257 and 262XP from HVA and Dolmar's 5100S and don't forget the 242XP, HVA answer to the 5100(Screamer).

Have you ever tried to butter your toast with a light sabre? The butter just vaporizes and you are left with burnt dry toast.

I know what you mean, I have one and I looked for it for years. Finally got one from a buddy in Finland. Had another that I sold a few months back to a guy in Ohio. They do run very well but a 5100S would make a good substitute. Have had a few 5100S saws that came in with spun case bearings, common problem in those saws I think, especially if they have been rebuilt. Lot of guys ignore Dolmar recommendations to 'glue' the bearings in place with Loc-Tite 601. I think they omit this stem because you have to heat the case to install the beaings. However the interference fit of the bearing to case is not strong enough to keep the bearings from spinning at high load/high RPMs.

Call Spike60, if he doesn't have one, he might know where to get one. He has at least two and is a fan of the model.

My 346 is currently out for a woods port and I have a very nice 154se....... I'm covered in the 40-50cc department, but the 242XP is a holy grail I'd like to own regardless of need.

I've been running the 95vpx on the 350 for the last few years. It is actually a really good cutting chain once you get it filed right.

Square filed PS3 is fun..... I'm surprised Oregon hasn't come out with a true chisel low-pro to compete.

So with the 241 and 545 being the main contenders to replace my 350, any advantages one over the other? The PS3 chain being 1 for the 241.

Here is a shot of the 372, man I love that saw. The 545 would make a good partner I think......
