Great find:dex:I picked up a 026 from an auction, but it needs a good tune-up, bar dressed and chain sharpened. 325 chain now, but debating on changing it to 3/8". What chain is on yours and is it an adjustable carb?

You will be much happier with .325 on an 026 than 3/8. Been there, tried that.

Thanks. Maybe clean the bar up and pick up a new chain. There's a chance I will just clean it up, get it running well and just sell it, but want to see how it runs first. I picked up a Makita EA4300 from Home Depot a couple of months ago and not sure there is any reason to keep both.
OP, great job picking yours up for $150.

    Thanks!
.325 chain, carb is adjustable, I'm going to grab an extra chain tomorrow, probably just stay with the .325, can't think If a reason to change it.

They will cut better with .325. The thinner tooth allows the saw to keep higher revs and stay in the power band and not bog out in the cut.

Some change it cause they have modified the saw and it can pull 3/8 and they feel it cuts better. Or it can be something just as simple as say their other saw runs 3/8 18" chain and they just want to keep it consistent and only have one size chain loop on hand.
