:picard: We just now at this very moment watched a 3\4 ton pickup with a large 5th wheel on it, followed by a pickup towing a boat go by, out of vision for 5 minutes, then back out:hair:

I do think it should stop alot of others though. But still OMG

We are on a short dead end road. Only about 1000 ft. When we first moved here, this was a new road. It comes in from a main road, up a steep hill and down again to the end. I'm the only one on the last half of the road, and I am on the end, right hand side. For the first 10 or so years, cars would come speeding down the road esp. at night. It was a while before the town for a dead end sign at the roads entrance. We would hear brakes being slammed on all hours of the night. Have to say that most of that traffic and the sightseeing has stopped. There is a drop off at the end of the turn around. :jaw:

A sign at the end of the turn around- " Proceed with caution" could be pretty funny the first few times. Just say'in. ;)

It's really hard to miss WW :) It's actually larger than it appears in the picture. The local fisherman that have been coming here for years know they can get to public access lands over here (not that it is ok for them to use our road),but they are more respectful than campers. Those lands are meant to be accessed by the open lands to the south or the by the lake, not the road that we plow and grade out of our own pocket. Sticky situation, I have high hopes it will stop alot of the traffic from the joyriders and lookie-loos.

Looks good. Yeah, I have to agree, I would have worded it much stronger, people seem to think traffic signs apply only to other people. Personally, I would add a life size plywood cutout of this dude next to the sign [IMG]
I work for our city water utility and it just never ceases to amaze me how often people will drive around a "road closed" sign and then have the nerve to get pizzed at us when they get yelled at and made to back out (as in no turn around...back the freak out the way you came in!) We've even had people drive thru (over) "road closed" signs and crash into dirt piled in the middle of the road! :headbang: :hair: It's pretty scary out there...we have problems almost every time we work in the street...I would hate to be a highway worker these days, at least we work mainly on 25-35 MPH (a few 45) streets...that 65 MPH (and up) on the highway would be a deal breaker for me!
