Some progress made today. Still more to go but I went brush hogging for a while and after dinner I mowed all the lawn at the house.

The deer flies were chewing on me the other night, skeeters are not that bad when we have some wind.

So far, no ticks but I have my shirts and my pants sprayed with Permethrin.

My Permethrin came in the other day, I will be using it later this week. Do you usually spray it on the night before and let it dry? Boots, socks(?), jeans, shirt(?). I know you don't use this stuff on your skin. Do you spray the skin areas with something different if going into an area of high tick concern. I will be working in that area I have been cleaning up for the view. There is now brush (sapplings) and long grass through there. I am going to be able to get some of it with the tractor and brush hog, but some areas have a lot of cut off saplings in there and I don't want to damage my tires. So I need to go in with chainsaw and cut them flush with the ground first.

I spray my pants and my shirts in the morning......put them on the clothes line all day so they dry good, I do need my boots sprayed.

I use Backwoods Off for ticks on my skin, I also tuck my pant legs in my boots before I tighten them up, looks dorky but it keeps the ticks out.

When I come in for the day I take a shower pronto, get yourself a back brush, scrub away, it will also take any pollen off.
