While I agree the steel toe is my preference, I noticed in the video they were doing glancing strokes. I know for a fact a straight down cut would have cut into the steel toe. I have seen a fellow member make a 1/4" deep cut in a piece of 1/8" thick angle iron that only took an instant using 3/8" chain.
