    You referring to the "work table" (orange table on one side), or the "Log Cradles" (black things on either side of beam)?

    Mainly the log cradle on the opposite side. I hate when I have to drop half of the first split and pick it up when I `m ready for it.

    The log cradles are a MUST! I'm amazed how many folks have splitters without log cradles, for the reason you just stated. Having the work table makes it even better. Slide the half on your side over to the table, and keep splitting the far 1/2, no lifting anything until your ready for the next round.

    Splitting vertically you do not need them.
