Last month power bill was $250+. We have some of the most expensive power too. Just have to be sparing with it. Esp in a house with almost no insulation.

Mine was $16 this month. Only that "high" because I had company and for some reason they kept leaving lights on when not needed and it hasn't been very sunny.

    Last month it was -$4.

$16!!!!! Our minimum charge I think is either $16 or $19 if you dint use the first kilowatt!!!

If I dont run any heat or air my bill is still around $120/ month

Rain and a current temp of 55, looking at a high of 60 today. Looking like there might be a small fire in the near future.

At what point does it go from the last fire of the season to the first fire of the next season?

Well, it is my week off this summer. Wouldn't want 90s so I would actually venture into the water here. It's cold. I still don't understand how my kids can do it.

And I am talking about an 80,000 acre lake that is well over 100 ft deep in the channel in many places!!

This 23,000 sq mi, 195' average depth lake doesn't get that warm. Our little slice is very protected, and on a calm, hot day the surface temps are in the mid 80s. About a foot down though, it is still cold. It is amazing to swim in.

Lake here and the other 2 around are corps of engineer controlled and owned and there is little lake property in the one I live near. I go to it by my boat no house for us. Brother in law has a place there.

Love the look and feel of northern lakes from what I see of them on the TV.

If you are feeling cold, that is all you need to motivate you to have a fire. If not cold, then have one outside. Always makes you feel calmer.

Right where I want to be.
    I can't believe it.:wacky:
My wife was laying on the couch last night and asked if I was going to make a fire.
I said that I wasn't planning to, but it was cool in the house with an outside temp around 50 and damp.
Went to the shed and got some Pine and 2 splits of Oak.
6 splits and I still have a few small coals this morning. House is at 72.
Wish I'd had the OAK installed.
I was hoping to not start fires until Oct this year. Like Jeff said, when is this considered starting or stopping?

"My wife was laying on the couch last night and asked if I was going to make a fire."

There was a time that comment from my wife wouldn't have made me think of firewood... ;)
Been so long now... I can't remember why...  (Well, maybe)

I love any cool down we get. I wish it were high of 70, low of high 50's every day of the year.

Just another day, eh PD? Not really cold last night, just a chilly, damp day. All day. I thought about lighting up a few more sticks when I was up at 6 this morning, but decided to go fishing instead.

I think July 15 is right in the middle. A fire Monday would be end of the season, today would be first of the season.

Wasn't too bad this morning. Rain quit in the evening, and I think it warmed up a little overnight. Was right around 50. Sweatshirt weather.

We fished a small inland lake this morning. My BIL with a largemouth
