The jumper you have placed isn't correct. The wide bar is the common. See pic for where you need to jump for testing.

JT you are the man! Now in the photo you indicated the correct jumper on, the board is actually upside down. For me to try and run it in manual mode would i still jump it as POS 1? That would be like the switch is all the way to the right in the "manual" postition right? Thanks for tracking down that switch for me. Gonna see what i can do about ordering one.

I just marked it the way it was pictured. You need to see what the face plate says for manual and orient the board as it was installed. Then you might need to swap pos 1 and 3. 2 is the middle setting on the switch either way.

oh ok yea i guess it doesn't make a difference if it's upside down or not. Either way i need to jump it like you said. I'll give it a shot in the morning. Thanks again

Jt you were definitely right about the wide bar being the common. Both ways I had it jumped before were still telling the stove it was in t-stat mode. I jumped pos 1 like you said and it finally burned past the 1hr shut down I've been experiencing. That's definitely "manual" mode. Thanks again

FYI…. those St Croix's like to have the combustion air intake open the width of a pencil… if you need more air your stove is still plugged.

Only bought three bags so far… waiting for my ship to come in. imacman promised me a free load of horse bedding pellets but every bag he sends me looks like they've already been thru the horse!

Yea after trying different settings that's where I found mine burns best. The flame gets pretty wild if it's open any more than that. And gets lazy if I close it just a bit more.

If you look at a horses diet its easy to see that it can be done. As a better example consider the Indians and later the pioneers of this country. They purposely had to find and burn buffalo dung as wood was simply not available on the prairies. They also used twisted prairie grass which certain grasses such as switch grass has been made into pellets and burned in modern pellet stoves. A lot of ash but it can be done.

Got the switches in today and rather than try to solder the new switch in, I carefully took just the slide/contactor piece off and snapped it onto the board. It's currently running (in manual I hope) and i'll see what it does after an hour or so. Keeping my fingers crossed! :tears:

Im still having the 1 hr shut down issue after installing the switch. I read in the manual from eventemp in (which is for models with an older control board) that the stove is set from the factory in "smart stat" mode. To run it in "manual" it refers to removing the factory installed jumper. Could this be a jumper on my board keeping the stove in "smart stat' mode. The black plastic piece is removable Im not having any luck communicating with st croix's tech department.

Is the switch installed correctly, that is are the switch contacts working exactly like they did when you used the jumper on the busted switch?
