New video today with my point and shoot camera.

    Sounds better.

Only got two passes cause I hit my chock on the end of the second pass and the saw pulled the log to me.

Quick question for you Clem ............ the videos you put up, is that the way you normally cut ? Did you do anything different for the videos, or were those cuts representative of how you are cutting everyday ?

I ask because it will help me determine what to set the chain to.

No I dont normally cut that stiff and trying to go that fast. I still was pushing pretty good to try and get the best time. When I cut firewood its usually not a race to me. This was like a race to me. That said I still like to cut fast hence the reason I do most of my cutting with a 372 and a ms650.

I hope that answers your question?

But as to how and what I cut, that log is very representative of the type of wood I cut and the size.

The log also has some taper and were getting a bit smaller as I cut off cookies at this point.

    Cool thanks.

I will send it back. Just not sure when that may be though. My wood cutting time is limited these days.

If I go after that locust today, that will dull it down pretty good:eek:

If its downed already, you wont make 2 cuts before it dulls. I got a "small" side job last month ........... 3 small trees to clean up, nothing bigger than 12". Guy told me he cut them down just before Halloween, and now he didnt have time to cut them up, could I help him out .......... he said "it will only take 1/2 hour to cut it all". I bring my 30cc saw and 3 chisel chains ( I was being extra cautious and brought 1 extra chain). .............. It ended up being thorny locust, and all 3 of my chains were dull before the 7th cut :(. Sparks from the chain in the cut :headbang:, 30 mins drive to get more chains (no file with me):headbang:, 30 mins back :headbang:, 9 semi-chisel chains later:hair:, after it was all cut, he tells me he dropped them the Haloween before last :picard:

Its dead standing but that doesnt make it any better!

Last stuff I cut was about a year and a half ago. It took two chains to fill my short bed ranger that has a toolbox in it!!! That means just over 4 linear feet of bed to fill. I totally dulled two chains. I used them way longer than I should but I wanted to get it all cut. I had to leave a small limb cause it was that dull. I put some wear on the saw that day. I mean burning cuts. Hate to admit it but I did what I had too.

It was the end of a day as well and there was sparks for sure!!

Thinking back I probably won't use it that way. I want more enjoyment out of it than that.

Plus I would need to spend an hour at my grinder getting chains ready!!!

Looking good there Clem. Nice job on the chain Mopar. I'm anxious to get my hungry chain from you in some wood, but will be reserving it for clean GTG cant wood. Thanks again for the chain!

    My pleasure Brad !!
Please let me know how she does when you do use her.
I would love to see videos like Clem put up so I can see how the saw and chain are working together.

Its gunna give that 50cc saw a good workout, unless you have a little something extra inside the saw, then I might have to "tweak" that chain for a stronger saw

    Say it isnt so. o_O

Off the reel square 3/8 on way to lean saw test session. No work on chain just off the reel.

Think I was trying alky/nitro on this test run.

I've got two loops of square from Mopar now. He filed me a 63PS3 chain from the Christmas giving thread too. I'm going to try it on my little MS150, lol. Should do good on a 241 too.

Clem, I think Mike said "HE" gets more life out of square then round. Most of us mortals won't.
    Mikes a little better then most with a file...a wrench...a grinder...a torch....getting my point here ?

I've not had much luck with 3 cube chains. I always get too aggressive for them. For 4 cube and bigger I can keep them from loading the saw too much.
