What about the pferd. That's what I get, is it worth the trouble to find something else. Just order a 511ax for all the round ground customers that keep dropping chains by. Now I can focus on hand filling square ( for my self)

I had bad luck with pferd. They may be fine but the 2 or 3 I had were awful. Chipped the corner quickly.

By corner, do you mean the file corner rounding off. I figured that was just me.

These didn't round much. They chipped off in pieces.

That means it's a good chain to use on a saw with a high rpm power band and relatively small..
IE : sharp and fast, but can only remove just so much material, so once you get into a saw class with more power, you step up to a taller tooth..

Same way here. One dealer ordered 2 loops by mistake. Said he'd make me a real deal on them at $33 a piece for a 24" loop. I just said no and left.

I tried the 4 sided Vallorbe and liked how it worked for me ;). Was a stihl dealer here selling them before they sold them for use with atop. Pricy though at $9 a piece. I sold my last 2 of them in that package deal for $10 for both.

Had the Viiala 6 sided too. Tried a bunch back then. :zip:

Let's just say anything in the sub 3hp range that likes to turn a lot of rpm's...

The main industry here is logging ,that may be a lot of it

    Don't move here :p

the stihl shop has them on the shelf here ,my gas station has bar oil at the gas pumps too ,no lie
the right hand one id the 6 sided for cutters ,the lh one is for rakers ,sideds are smooth
seems like when i need to buy files it ends up being 100 bucks ,too much eye candy there not to go home with just a file lol
