Felling and bucking trees, yes .............. no stump grinding, but I have been known to choke on 2 cycle fumes getting stumps real close to the ground. Cant do that with a 3/4 or full wrap, but I usually tell people to call the stump grinder and I cut the stumps as low as the 3/4 will let me now-a-days................... untill my 066 decides it wants some action, then it will be a challenge again to see how long I can hold my breath before I have to walk away to breathe

Run your hand along a cookie that has been cut by a stoned chain and one that hasnt been. ;)

  we all must get stoned or go home. I didnt do alot of that stuff to my stock looking chain and it cost it the little time needed. But that happens when you make a chain on the quick side.

    3ci chain build off

3 cuts with a stock chain and the times was 3.53 2.91 3.12 with a average of 3.18

C and D were mine. D was 2nd and had no work done to it.

C chain was a B-grrrrrrr drawing blood and a couple of (2) hours of time trying to fix mistakes. Tried to fix a cutter I tried that was way to aggressive and then took the rakers to low when I got the tooth back to far. Never did get the cutter back where I wanted it [IMG] No stoning, tunneling or anything either.

D I had less then 1 hour on it. No stoning, tunneling or anything. Just a work chain square filed at about the right tooth length.

H NOT ME but Cale was 1st with all the stuff done. H had over 10hrs in his chain. grinding, filing and stoning into that chain.

    Chains sent in
    a 2.60 2.41 2.40=2.47
    b 2.50 2.69 2.40=2.53
    c 3.00 2.76 2.65=2.80
    d2.28 2.35 2.25=2.29
    e 2.56 2.34 2.50=2.46
    f 3.50 3.15 3.15=3.26
    g2.38 2.31 2.44=2.37
    h 2.18 2.25 2.28=2.23

Do you really think we would use a different operator for a race chain build off. :picard:

Good Lord give us some credit this isnt our first rodeo like some people.

Same OP, same saw, hmmmm guess what same wood, same mix, same air, same day. :zip::whistle::p;)

Just having fun with ya.

I thought so but didn't go digging. I do a lot better for bigger saws.

I suk at chains no matter what size using. Just get lucky sometimes.

Thats why I say. Dont waste time doing all the BS to one before you know if it can make the cut or not.
Now which one of my 2 do you think I would spend the extra time on. Everything on that other one would be a waste of time. JMO
