Agreed.....if pellets start getting piled-up in the big box yards, there could be a sale to move them out.

Disadvantage of living in a small town with no big box stores.

But if Heartlands are as good as you say they are, at those prices you're getting a great deal.

I'm afraid I cannot compare them as good or bad brands, I only have tried two. That said, the heartlands do not misfeed in the hopper, or clog up the burn pot, AND, less in the ash pan.

My husband picked up a bag of Lignetics. It was over twice the price as the other brands. I did not see any benefits from it, and got my first clanker too.....

Clanker. :D Heartlands are good. I've roasted them, rate right up there with other quality softies.

I don't known the numbers for the early buys. But this I do know. I have never seen so many pellets around. Was driving down rt 20 here in central MA and seen a couple places stuffed with more pellets than I have ever seen. Good ones too.

Well, hopefully the price of oil stays low, pellets don't sell, and dealers have a lot of stock........then you pigs need to pounce.....er, I mean waddle over and root them out for late winter or next years stash.

I was told by a retailer that they planed to up the amounts they started with due to the short fall they had last year. Lost a few sales while they were out during the crunch. He's sure they'll sell before the season starts.

Don't think they counted on oil prices! And no sign of a shortage near me yet!!

Kind of partial to clanker. Can we add it to the pellet head vernacular as a synonym for clinker?

There is like a Bark and Mulch place. They had Lacretes lined all along their parking lot.

The other was a stove shop. They have an area where they store pellets. It was loaded up . Both are on the Worcester/Shrewsbury line. The pellets at the stove shop were historically priced on the higher side. Uncertain about the other.

Ok, yup I know both places. Scored some La Cretes from the bark mulch place back in July!
