If we do take those, it's going to make a nice opportunity to show off the limbing saws and even some top-handles. Then pull the big guns back out. My MS261 will destroy those maple tops in a hurry. :saw:

When I went to Spike60s GTG last fall, it was easy to tell when I was in the right place. Even with my eyes shut and ear plugs in......

Other than you having a BIG pile of branches, we should have no problem dropping those trees. Maybe we'll do those two in the last picture on Friday for cookies......

I have a big pit to burn branches but honestly think I'll just rent a chipper and run all the branches through it. Will be easier and then I'll have a pile of mulch.

That's a good idea, then the cookie logs will be ready to go.

Cookies are cuts made commonly in logging competitions, it's a full cut but the piece cut is only an inch or less long. So instead of cutting firewood length you can make a lot of cuts on one log. Usually done just to test a saw or in this case a way to be able to make a whole lot more cuts.

As a bonus the cookies from the pine logs will make great campfire wood for summertime fires!

Less than 2 months away!!! WooHoo! !

Cutting and hanging with the boys! !

What time Friday? I was gonna work and be there around 5, but I can take a vacation day and come early.

Just got an update from Randy today on my other 2 saws he has. This is gonna be a blast.

On a sidenote, I will most definitely be bringing Joshmain (new member here and friend of 18 years) with me and our Wives will probably stop out Sat some time. :)

I'm getting close to the point of where I have to commit one way or the other. Have to talk to the wife some more and schedule the time off from work.

I pulled teeth to get her to go to Southern IN with me to visit family. She's not the road trip type, even a short 6 hour ride. I'm pretty sure she hated every minute in the car. And that was when she was a few weeks preggers, she would be 8 months at G2G time.

I however, given the opportunity, will jump in a truck and drive 15-20hrs for little more than the drop of a hat.

I'm going to be taking down some walnut trees here soon and I'm thinking I will buy an Alaskan mill and mini mill. Want to try some milling if we have time at the G2G

That big sugar maple would be a good board candidate! Make some thick slabs for Kentucky longrifle stocks!
