I split whatever wood I get as soon as feasible. I like to get it exposed with as much surface area as possible as soon as I can so it can dry out as quickly as possible and that can’t happen if it sits for a year as a round. I have a hydraulic splitter and it hasn’t met anything yet it can’t split.
