With no modifications, the pick-up crane I bought here… would work perfectly for lifting rounds on your trailer and not be very heavy doing it. Under $200 too. Northern Tool.
Yea, that does sound better. LOL If I mounted a crane / winch to the trailer, it'll be battery operated & a remote control.
Well, my pace is dead in it's tracks for a bit. Busy today and tomorrow, then the rain should start right back up. Perfect. Forgot to add, a few mentioned they use pretty large splits in their 30s, so most of this is getting split bigger than usual. Won't be used until '15-16, so should be fine.
Got some of the dead Oak split and stacked. It's the top half of the darker stuff in this stack. Found this little guy in another stack of Oak that's going in the shed soon. Is this an EAB? View attachment 18552
Also got the rest of the Maple split. Man, does it feel good to have that done. Now I can go get some more Oak. This pile is a little over 16' wide x 4' deep x about 2.5' high. Now, to find out exactly how much is actually here ......once it's stacked.

Hot? WTH is that? Going down to 28 tonight. I think we're warming in a week or so to the upper 60's. Veritable heat wave. I'm really liking the smartphone cam. It does a nice job.

I'm trying to use more Maple. Really like it for SS, and daytime burns. Dries well in a year or so, but 2 is gooder. Cuts easy too. This batch will be used winter '15.
Just lit a fire here. Going to be in the 40s again tonight, rained all day, or cloudy at times, no solar gain. 83 with 83 % humidity yesterday. Rain forecast most days in the next 14. And, PapaDave, abundant ticks. They have been out in force for a while now.
