A lot of dependant on the species, whether bark is on or off, is the trunk still attached to the roots? Etc.
Maybe you just need to really pay attention to the weather, and go process wood when the ground is frozen from a good overnight freeze? That's what I do, but if you only scrounge on the weekends like me, that's more difficult to do.
Had family swing by this afternoon and by the time they left the rain set in, so didn’t make it out but hopeful for tomorrow. Looks like a beautiful area to process and spend some time If things stay this way, you know you’re gonna have to change the thread to splitting in the mud, right?
I am very attentive to the weather. I can process when muddy, but just cant drive back there to bring wood in. Tuesday is gonna be cold here and maybe last day for a while i can get back there. Hoping to get more rounds back there. Hitting a "limbo" score on Tuesday. Work gets in my way too! Seems we only get a few dry frozen ground days the last few years.
Hey thanks. Long time lurker here got signed up cause nobody I know wants to see all my stupid wood pictures!
Well you definitely came to the right place. We LOVE pics. Anything and everything related to wood and then some.
You two are going to get along just fine. BRAD the official FHC photo journalist might have some competition now.
rotorburn Welcome to the club. You will get no complaints here about posting too many firewood related pics. Seeing what others do becomes a teaching moment for many of us,
Share away. Every time someone , just think of the you save burning and the they are paying for heat...
