Now I will have one hand free. Simple solution, Pic 1, squeeze the trigger for clamp pressure twice, motor is on, runs continuous , Pic 2, squeeze the release lever once, motor is off , clamp stays put
I don't see any reason to do anything else, works great, And when I get ready to sell it, it will be stock And still have that extra safety feature intact. You don't need to turn it off until you get done splitting I could tear it apart and replace the momentary switch With a regular on off switch But it wouldn't be snow and water resistant. I could also wire it, always on, and plug the splitter into the 20 amp footswitch I have, but why? this works
I had welded an extension on the lever on the one I had so I could use one hand to push the button and hold the lever down. I don't know what brand your machine is, but the one I had, the motor had to be off for it to retract. Running it non-stop, I'd have to wonder if the motor and pump are up to that task?
The splitter is a harbor freight 7ton, the ram will retract with the motor running. I think the motor n pump will be ok, That button is just an added safety feature someone thinks I need. If I do burn it up, well, I guess I will just have to move on to bigger and better things sooner
