Has he seen the advantages of the push plate? You could take all the elm you want then. All kidding aside, elm burns great, it just doesn't like to split.
We are trying to steer him away from co-ownership. With the amount of wood Brad splits, a Super Split really would be perfect. He could drive to West Bridgewater and pick it up. Should he ever decide to sell it, he'd have zero trouble getting most of his money back. You seldom see them for sale used for good reason. Business co-ownership ventures seldom work out well. Often one person feels like they aren't getting a fair shake.
I've heard of "nightmare on elm street"...are you saying there is a "nightmare on elm patio" coming?!
I’m thinking real hard on a push through with a 4-way and log lift. 37-Ton Horizontal Gas Log Splitter w/ Log Lift (RS-737) I have a big Tupelo (black gum) to tackle. It might end up noodled anyhow though. I have about 15 cords of mostly ash to move through. 32 IBC totes to fill, and a few racks to stack the rest.
i got oregon 35 ton wood splitter when started off around 120 cord threw it in two years it same design as tractor supply do have wear on groove but nothing nutz i never found anything it’s wouldn’t split just slow does get the job done i paid 1800 for it i upgraded these spring to eastonmade 22-28 it works faster then i can can’t even find piece wood to make it sniff but price tag in 13000$ range you need rack to hold wood on oregon one to save alot touching wood if can afford get one with log lift the crap i don’t like working bent over in vertical position both well get job done
