    We're in South Central Pa. near Gettysburg. That farm house is where I was raised, my dad still lives there (84 year old that still runs a harley), that's an original bank barn, you should see the inside of that thing, it's huge, and the place with all the firewood on the back porch, well, that's where my wonderful wife and I reside :D

    LOVE that pink Box Elder burl.....Can be a pain to work sometimes cause of the softness/occasional grain tearout but patience brings its own reward...:cool:

    I'm a novice bowl turner, and you are correct that tearout is a problem. You can see it in this bowl, along with some sanding grooves. I've got some learning to do yet, but it sure is a fun hobby :)

    Wowie, wow! Saying "Geese, Louise" or "holy smokes!" or "gadzooks!" just doesn't describe my awe. Thanks for the pics and GREAT JOB! There must be a river nearby you from the moisture coming out of ALL THAT WOOD... heheh.
