Today I figured it was time to clean my spark screen in the muffler of my MS 362. A very simple job that only involves one screw and then pull it out. To my surprise, the screen was very clean. Then, I figured if it runs well with the screen then why not help it breath better without putting the screen back in. I know I will need to be careful because saws do throw sparks from time to time. My old Pro Mac 700 (May God rest it's heavy 70 cc soul) would throw sparks like fizzling Roman Candle but I never started a fire. That old saw was a wood cutting brute. Anyway, I'm going to try it this way for the time being.
I take mine out as soon as there's snow/ fairly cold weather happening. I really don't know how much difference it makes though.
