Something is wrong with our dog

Ws, so sorry to hear this about your Buster. They are like our own kids, and we do feel tremendous loss when it is their time. Know that he is well loved, and I'm sure he returns that love a hundred fold. As I'm typing this I'm letting Boomer on the head. He's the guy in the avatar. Yes, they are indeed special. Give Buster a hug from Boomer and us.

 

15 years is a heck of a run for a dog, they don't get that old without the love of their family. lost a couple over the years myself , isnt fun, isnt easy, but if it were easy you shouldn't have had a dog. my current companion is a mini-dachshund who adopted me after our basset hound passed a few years back, we were shopping for a new basset puppy (i love the breed) and our "chrissie" decided to come out and grab my pant leg. she shook it until i looked down and when i did she let go and sat down and just looked up at me, was over at that point. she now rules our home like the true diva she is.

anyway, think of the enjoyment both you and your dog had during the time he has been with you, know that he knows you love him

remember as the movie walt disney made states, "all dogs go to heaven"

 

no prob WS, just wanted to offer what little i could. i feel for ya bro, been there, ain't fun.

BTW the "soft spot" is called humanity. character. love your little friend while he's here. remember him when he's gone. you gave him a long loving life, he knows this.

 

Little Buster gave you a lot , this is when you give back. Our little one was 17 when she passed. Heart failure is something that is somewhat treatable. It can set on suddenly, or over a period of time. Take care of yourself and your wife. Best wishes to Buster.

 

Sorry to hear about Buster. It is so hard and you feel so helpless when your loved pet has medical problems. Just know that we all are thinking of your family at this time.

 

WS, sorry to hear about this. I have a story about my first dog which I won't share, but he had the same conditions and when it got bad, he let me know.
Prepare yourself to take him to the vet. when the time is right. Stay strong. JB

 

Enjoy the time you have left and spoil your little buddy to pieces....even more than you probably already have. We lost our Aussie about 5 months ago and I still miss him a bunch. They bring a lot of joy to our lives.

 

I couldn't respond to this post at the time because I am going through a similar situation. My dog was given 2 weeks back in July but did well on medication until recently. Today I found out that she will have to be put down within a week or two depending on how fast she declines. I kind of knew it before the doctor had "the chat" with me.

So first, I want to say that I am sorry. Second, as others have said, the medication may turn things around. Third, this gives you some time to say goodbye and...spoil the dog rotten.

 

So very sorry you are going through this. Our turn was last march, but it was sudden. We still miss her so much. I had a canvas picture made of her. I often find myself touching her portrait when I walk past it.

 

Thank you, Save. She is easily the best dog I have ever owned. The most kindhearted and gentle girl. I know how you feel. It is nice that you have the portrait to still have her there.

 

So sorry to hear that D....it's a hard thing to do, we went through it in July and it still hurts at times.

 

Sorry that you and yours have to go through this, hang in there and cuddle that little guy alot....
