It will get done.. blower will get attached to Kubota, driveway will get the markers up, winter is coming.
Some pics.. Top pic is mostly ash and cherry. Stacked out to 1.5 cord. 2nd pic is sugar maple and some shag.. They go on separate pallets. So when loaded on deck pine, poplar first and last rows.. With ash and good stuff between them. So in January and February the good stuff right at hand!!
Yeah! We have had a lot of rain this past week makes for lots of mud. Yuck! What with the Hot humid weather this Summer and so much Rain I am way behind on wood processing.
So a split pile of pine.. Rough guess of over cord.. This piles Ohh half cord of sugar and about cord and half of ash and silver and yellow birch. Still more to do but it didn't rain for 4 hours
Looks great Canadian border VT! I took advantage of the weather today and did a little splitting for myself and a cord for a 90 year old neighbor. He had a stroke earlier in the year but he was out there feeding me rounds plus doing a little stacking. I wanna be like that at 90
He'll Maina I want to be like that at 60!! Probably another 1.5 cord to split then stacking but my girls are becoming great stackers!!
View attachment 185905 View attachment 185905 View attachment 185905 View attachment 185905 I need to split some locust that has been seasoning for about three years. This splits relatively easy even when not seasoned. The oak I had wasn't too bad and the cherry was super easy. What I don't want to do is split the hickory even though it has seasoned for three or four years. Everytime I do a round I'm exhausted. That being said, I'm not renting a splitter.
Welcome Alucard.. No I think splitter is a mid 70s.. Lafond out of Wisconsin.. I use it cause its easier Best pic I got of it.. Under the blue tub on a 3 yo brig stratton 14 up motor.. I get a fair amount of elm no way I split that by hand. One thing I like about it besides what it cost.. Was it a push plate instead of wedge, so if a round Dosent split all way just put another in Front and keep going.
Well you got me there and I have to say it feels good after not being able to for over a dozen years. It’s great to be back at it even at a much slower pace.
Not today my friend first day of rifle season and 40 mph winds.. I don't trust the unseasoned hunter yet!! But they like to help or maybe more to the point. Our oil heat is set to 50.. They like woodstove heat!
Yes, wood dry's very little in the round. If it was split and stacked 3 years ago, it would be primo firewood right now...
