Got everything I split the other day stacked over the last couple days. Split for 3 hrs this morning before I had to be home. Stuff split today Stack progress Pile #1 shrinking
Still whittling away at the first pile! Couple cord split and stacked today. Going for a long splitting day tomorrow. See how much of the remaining pile I can get done.
So that explains the pallet shortage! Unbelievable sir. Those are such nice stacks itll be ashamed to take them down. Can i have some of your stacking motivation?
Pallet shortage in your area? I guess it makes sense with things being hard to get there probably isn’t the need for pallets. So far, I like my new layout and if I haul as rounds next year, I am going to unload in between the pallets instead of in huge piles. Less moving the wood. Don’t zoom in, the stacks don’t look as nice
Shouldnt have said that as i did. Plenty of air space. I really wish i could get out of the habit of stacking so tightly. Good idea for next year. Always an evolving work in progress.
Haven’t posted in a couple week, but I’ve been busy. Got a call from one of my regulars for 5 cord delivered, so I took care of that. Laid up with what I think was covid for four days last week, so that put a hamper on the splitting Really wanted to finish my first of the three big piles by today, so I ran the splitter for 6.5 hrs without stopping before getting kids from school! Just finished it. So after finishing the first pile, I have 67 face cord split and stacked, I sold 15 face cord to that customer, and I have to stack all the stuff I split. So I’m figuring I’m at least at 90 + face cord from my first pile! More than I figured there was! Once I get it stacked I’ll give a more exact figure. Makin progress Two more piles to go Where the pile used to be!
I have the four way. Sometimes use it, sometimes don’t. Lot of the stuff I was splitting today was pretty big so I was just using the wedge.
Thanks! I had the opportunity to cut some really nice stuff this winter, so I went kinda nuts Quite a bit left to process, but I’m making headway
We'll be around 54 tomorrow but after that the temps jump up to 65 and some possible temps hitting 70, that will bring them out.
Got everything I had split in the last post stacked and measured out. Total comes to 93 face cord so far heading into my second pile!
Wow, you have quite an operation going...We aren't worthy to hold your gas can...that is a great job, my friend. I see you have a beast for a woodsplitter too. Nice
I learn from some of the best on the forum I enjoy the work and the splitter definitely helps with the processing. Have other projects I’d like to work on but have a hard time stopping before the wood is done.
