Forgot to put this pic up in the OP. Not many will go back and look at it. So here it is.

The 562 I ran yesterday as well, but used a new Woodland Pro loop and it ran about 9-10 seconds. :( Many think that a new chain is a new chain. Off the loop varies a lot from Stihl, Oregon, Woodland pro (Carlton), and Forester. With them cutting in quality in that order (IMO)

Depending on who ground them at the factory I've had oregon that will smoke stihl in cutting speed.

    I have questions about solo

    Does makita own the brand?
Are they not supposed to be sold in USA?
Is the model in this thread still in production?
    Is it strato?

    Thanks in advance

Embarrasses it in performance maybe but doesn't come close on the scales. More like 70cc weight and performance with only 65cc actual displacement. Put it against other saws in the same weight class and it won't be such a bully in the crowd.

And that price is ridiculous compared to what KRL offered these saws for a few weeks back.

I'm curious to see the difference in the 665 and 441 or 460.

Blah, blah, excuses... The amazon price is still better then buying a 362/562 and sending it out to be ported by multiple hundreds of dollars. (What really sucks is baileys used to have the 681 for $499)

I thought a ported 60cc moronic/auto tune saw was the best thing since sliced bread. Always being in tune makes it cut like a 70cc blah, blah, blah. Put a 81cc top end on that solo and let's see it against a ported 441.

Ported or stock? I don't think anybody on the forum that has a 665 has a stock 441 or 460.....

Here we have a fully fueled/oiled MS441C-M wearing a 28" ES Light bar. Weight would be very close wearing a 20" ES or other solid machined bar. Unless some big gains, and I mean phenomenal, are to be had out of the 665, I don't think it's gonna hang with this one. :saw::saw::saw:

EDIT: we could ask @DexterDay since he has a 441 with extra bananas and a 665.....

Pretty sure the 665 will be a contender. It's 6 cc bigger than a 362C-M and it spanked its azz!! The 441 is only 6 cc larger than the 665.

I'm very optimistic :dex: I think this is gonna be a "Go to" machine! !

Will parts for the solo be difficult to get when needed?

Depends on how picky you are. They should share a lot of parts with the Dolmar/Makita versions but I don't know if the Dolmar and Solo red match should you need plastics. The 65cc closed port top end would likely be very tough to get down the road as it is specific to the 665 and not found on the Dolkita saws.

I have a 665 to 681 conversion in process right now using OEM Solo 681 P/C and NCFarmboy already has one completed. The Solo plastic is red the Dolmar plastic is more red/orange. I also have a 7900 to 681 in process using OEM Solo 681 stroked crank and another Solo 681 P/C. Also just ordered two Walbro RWJ-4-1 carbs one for each saw.

I'll bet that 681 in the video is about the same weight as the 441 and will stomp it stock or ported
