@DexterDay , How much difference is that Makita 6401 from the Dolmar 6400?

I believe they are the same saw internally with the outside covers being different colors.

Nope... Taking a break from it :( I don't know what's wrong with it. Maybe I will make a video of it tonight? And get some pointers from the Pro's.

    You talking about Mike's 6400?

Yeah that is a good runner. One of those top cutters out of the group of 10. he says the same thing about my 415 compared to his 415.

Like nascar motors, build 10 and 3 make it to the race.

Is it just me or does it seem that stroke has much more of an effect on power than bore/piston area?

    Sure seems like it.

Even the stroked 372 2mm more then stock was a tad faster then the non stroked crank ones.

Guess that is why my stroked crank 3120 was faster then non stroked too. ;)

I'm not at all surprised at the way the Solo runs...

That's why I put mine up.....no telling when I'll even fuel it up.

I think you should bring it to KY and let your friends break it in for you, especially those named Randy.

IMHO: stroke=torque and torque does the work. There are lots of ways to deliver torque, but mostly it is number of ports, port/timing and stroke.

Remember the little tiny pedel crank on your tri-cycle, compare that to the pedel crank on your first 10-speed. On the ten speed you were delivering downforce for a much longer period because of the longer stroke of the 10-speeds' crank.

Randy, my wife is good about the saw stuff I do, including letting me use the oven for heating cases but the dishwasher and saws on the mantle are verboten!
