Needed to burn some calories and relax the brain, so I split some knarly white pine I had stacked out in the woods today.

After just a few minutes I managed to do this to my GFB maul.
I split 6 cords of hardwood without a ding. Then my softwood does this! IMG_20180321_113247611_HDR.jpg IMG_20180321_113308816_HDR.jpg IMG_20180321_113254068.jpg

I apologise for the messy stack. It's being moved from woods to field so I didn't go for neatness

A few runs across with a flat file and you're good for another several cords.

The stack is no issue. It's starting to season already, messy stack or not.:)

frozen ? in that case not soft. I get people bringing in knives that look that way from chopping away at frozen foods.

Just clean that up with a file , it was too thin at the edge maybe ?
That's how I got mine at 50% off customer return with a similar edge .
I took a file to mine for a quick few stokes and it's been in business ever since .
