    I figured it was red maple based on the pics showing the bark. Looks like everyone is in agreement on the species as well.

    I see you have a jig to cut long splits down, I do as well. They are very handy to have.

    I still find myself just splitting those long ones and using them for campfires. Now if they are perfectly straight and higher BTU wood, then I'll probably throw them in the jig and cut them to proper length.
