I understand. When I did that we actually left for the weekend about 5 minutes after I loaded. I wanted to keep the LP from running for as long as possible. Although that's what furnaces like these are made to do. Defeats the purpose of having a wood furnace if you don't like leaving the house when it's in use. I load it every morning before work and walk out the door. I do have two IP cameras set up which allows me to monitor all the vitals remotely (firebox temp, flue temp, supply temp, return air temp, basement temp, house temp, draft and the state of the primary damper by way of the Kuuma's computer).

I thought maybe a little more clarification could help!

Kuma is an Idaho stove maker that has a pretty decent cat stove but it needs an 8” flue.

Maybe hypocrisy but what about a pellet stove or furnace?

    My response was similar.

Sadly, like so many stove manufacturers do, they make no mention of steel thickness of the fire box, the outer shell, and the top. That's too bad … imo … because this is information no one should have to look too hard to obtain or have to ask someone. Actually, very few manufacturers include this information. What's the big secret anyway? If you're in the business to sell a product, and you're supposedly proud of that product, then in my mind you'd want to share how well your product is built.

Like some stoves … such good clean burning and efficiently burning design stove and made of 10 gauge sheet metal that gets holes in it … in the fire box no less. Really? LOL!

A hole burned through a stove should never … ever … happen in my book. The stove should be over-built just for that. What's worse is the people that perform the testing protocols passed it. Huh!

Burn a stove for 5 years and burn a hole into it … I would be torqued off, for sure. These new stoves are designed to burn ultra hot anyway and the threshold they set for over-firing is extremely close to the operating temperatures that the consumer doesn't stand a chance whether it's his fault or a glitch in the design. Take for instance the recent video I posted of a guy having over-firing issues with a Flexburn stove … and he was the poster child fan man of that company buying several stoves from them over decades … and they stiffed him.
