W/C readings of -41,-38,-36,-32 & -20 feel the same.

 

Sounds like the house air was cold but not the house itself. Makes it easier to rebound when some things are still holding heat.

 

I would be upset with that situation. Good that you house is now warm and you have cooled down. Best to roll with it.

 

Be glad you woke up & found it when you did.

Well after it is all said and done i guess I am impressed with the stove since it managed to perform as well as it did. It took most of the day to get everything heat soaked again. I'm not kidding I was checking things with a thermometer and the wall and couches were reading 42 degrees. You can tell the floor in the kitchen is still colder than normal. I was seriously concerned we might not get it back up in temperature.

Here is a pretty funny story though, my daughter went and peed about 10:30 and called for my wife because she thought something was wrong. Apparently the toilet bowls were still so cold steam was rolling out of it after peeing. I am thanking the good lord it wasn't like that long enough to freeze anything up!

The coal bed is a little deep but after I had to run it that hard I am surprised its not worse. I can easily deal with that tomorrow. By the way there is big cinder block in front of the door until I get a dead bolt installed!

 

I know what a cool house is. We lost our power Christmas week from Monday morning until pm on Christmas. Everything was so cold for a couple days. Doesn't take long to cool a house in sub zero temps.
