Sorry your out spinning your wheels. If your coming towards GR shoot me a pm, I'll make a pot of coffee if there isn't already one on :).
Most times the spring shops can help you out.
I like to use the white oak myself, it's very strong and it's around $5 bucks a board when they are milling and it last way longer than standard treated wood.
For securement points you could use rod(like 1/4-3/6") and bend a small hump/loop into it and then weld both ends down to the top of the frame, you will need to make sure they are tall enough to extend above the decking a good amount but not to far to be in the way. Another thing is they would need to be far enough away from the floor and the walls so you can get a chain/hook in the opening. They are cheap to make and you can put 10 of them down the sides so you have lots of securement points for chains/straps as well as bungees. I have a hunk of rebar on the side of the house if you need a section ;).
Did I say how important securement points are for me lol.

Ok the answer is in. time to buy new... I asked the person from the spring shop and there best guess was 8000 to 10000 lbs ( thats a big difference ) Then I looked up the bearing numbers and am almost positive they came out of a black hole somehwere not even the bearing store in lansing had a clue and they know it all... Ive delt with them for years. The spring shop basically said they couldn't give a price till the end so we know how that works not happening....

I am not buying an axle its still rock solid. The spring hunt is on so i asked the previous owner who is a friend, mechanic and member here and he said 7000lb so thats what I am looking for I trust his word.

leoht I looked at those springs man they are nice! I cant seem to call the company my phone wont let me but im guessing shipping would be insane. I ordered some tools from Australia on ebay once and paid twice more than the product cost in shipping but the price was still worth it. Im not sure it would be this time:( They look really nice!

What do you fellas think of this one?

Why doesn’t anybody use metal bushings anymore?

They appear to all be nylon now. Are they meant to be cheaper or is the nylon actually better?

I think the nylon bushings aren't as noisy when rust moves in. Also, the bolts don't get rusted in place as bad. I'd get the greaseable bolts and I doubt it would be an issue

Can you Go to local junk yard and get the springs off a 5 or 10 ton dump truck? They should be strong enough and last awhile.

Thank you very much I will let you know!

Last night I wire wheelef the bottom of one of the springs off because some of the rust dimples looks like numbers Then use the crayons and a piece of paper to raise the numbers turns out they are numbers it says 4500 Wright Spring The spring shop I called told me that is a 4500 pound per spring and Wright spring went out of business in the Lansing area in 1999. Apparently they’ve made a lot of off-road springs for specialty order on vehicles.

    Finally have an answer!

I wouldn't want a spring that was any heavier that a total of 3500 total between the two. The ride will be much better rather than a trailer with a light light load bouncing around. A torsion axle sure rides nice even with a light load. A load that is bouncing is much harder to secure and much easier to damage.

Well I’m tired of hunting I made an impulse stop at a trailer sales place today while I was on my way back to the shop and to my surprise they actually had springs at a good price! 7000lb springs 3500 each lbs each.

Pics coming all in all under $200 for everything!

If you ever need anything "found":sherlock:, I enjoy the hunt so let me know. I'll have my hunting tools at the ready, sir yes sir:salute:.
Sounds like a reasonable price to not have to run around. I'm pretty committed to getting a deal so I rarely step outside that, unless it's something I just can't live without:ups:.
