...got'a love those .....never saw that coming.... moments when you're remodeling. Projects like yours are good to keep the gray cells active.
Seems like we have at least one short and intense shower every day here lately in the Virginia mountains -- very frustrating when you're trying to replace your roof as I am.
There's a diminishing return at about R-49 or so, but yeah, suggested is R-60 up here too. Our place is WELL below that.
Made a lot of headway yesterday and got the stud wall for the washer dryer and utility sink wall built now I am on to the lighting and ceiling work. The tub is framed out and looks good although a bit odd because of the shower shelf we put in it. Unfortunately my phone storage is full and I cant get a picture until I get it emptied tonight..... Mostly work info and picstime to clean it out..... Today I am on call to help the new guy ( training ) if he gets calls so who knows I may or may not get pics up soon... Im basically at the point where I can frame up the closet.. Should be a gooder time!
I did take this earlier before the phone went all crazy! It’s been the mobile workstation lately love that old truck!!
Half the lighting is up! 4 more to go!! It’s not permanently anchored yet and the wiring needs to be anchored but it looks pretty good! The wire hanging down will be run to a junction box to meet up with the other side of the lights.
New led lights are in and we went to Menards and got all the drywall, cement board a bunch of mortar, drywall mud, liquid nails and a bunch of other stuff. A little over $900 for all of it and 11% rebate we have a bunch of rebates coming so I might smell a new grill!! Have to frame the closet and install window tomorrow then it’s on to wiring outlets and fan in.
Well that was a LOT of work but it’s in. Had to buy an entire roll of house wrap from the more expensive of the stores $89 for the roll vs box store $69. We called all over and all but one where sold out. It’s the season.. Re framed the window opening and took out the small utility window that was there and installed a very nice jeldwin window that has a 10 year glass warranty including accidental glass breaking. That window looks really good! I had to piece the foam in out of what was there because I totally forgot to buy more and frankly it didn’t matter much so it got nailed on and taped with duct tape for extra meaaure. You can really see the size difference in the first picture. The height vs height before the framing really began.
Last night was a race to the finish on the siding. I got the siding done just as the rain and wind hit. It was a good thing there isn’t a leak inside and the window looks good!
Its still there but two strings broke and I had to bend a pole back into shape and stand two of them up this morning. It took a beating but surprisingly did good! Im overjoyed the crappers still functional!
