Saying here snow Wednesday changing to rain Thursday and 40. I'm so over winter this year. Still haven't finished cleaning up and don't really want to. It's a whole week away but NOAA says next Sunday snow, could be heavy at times.

Yup... just came in from roof raking :headbang: the house. A hand held avalanche rake I whipped up works really well, but I can see changes that'll help. I saw that rain forecast for Thurs too. damm... rain & snow = ice really has messed things up round heeya.

I'd say the 8" we supposedly got is about right...just got done snowblowing the driveways and sidewalk off here at the house...4" in some spots, 2' in others...went in to work last evening to clear things off...man did that stuff push hard! There was a lot of the snow that was real light and fluffy, but there was heavier wet stuff underneath, and thin layers of ice in the middle where it had changed over for a bit...then the temp had already starting dropping fast too, (was 12*) so I suppose it was trying to freeze up into one solid thick blanket.
    From the cockpit yesterday...

I've been at work, 72 hours this week, no time for nothing. Spent the day cleaning snow up today in 0 degrees on my one day off, which is ok, better than being at work.

I may get that avalanche rake. I think I'd rather push the snow and let it slide down the tarp thing rather than pull the rake. Pulling it kills my shoulders!

Snowpocalypse still here, pushed another 5" of snow adding to the 13"we got yesterday. The wind is brutal -35°F tonight hopefully ending tomorrow morning now. Today is a check for eggs regularly day or else they freeze, crack and are worthless!

Not the day here in NW Connecticut to be a firewood hoarder - rather throw it all in the stove! Eleven below zero this morning with 20 mph winds.

Nice to meet you rek ,If your gonna throw it all in the stove you must have one mighty big stove. Or you don't have much wood. Pull up a stump and enjoy the madness.

4 degrees would not be that bad without the wind...

I saw no deer or turkey out in the fields where they usually are. Still hunkered down out of the wind I believe.

Wind was persistent with light squalls all day.

Naw, just thinking it’s the day to burn more, not worry about saving any.
I have plenty and stay one or two years ahead. It’s nice to enjoy a storm and the cold when all the woodcutting work pays off.

Yeah, Well Seasoned Jay got caught in a financial debacle not mountain fault. It makes cash but got hit in a bad snow year.

I wouldn't work a lift for 11 dollars an hour at 45 below without wind chills

Nope. We got around 8 " of snow, and then at midnight it turned into a steady rain which knocked it down to about 6" of snow/slush. It quickly froze yesterday late morning.

We got boned. It's 0° here now, everything is a block of ice.

Supposed to rain on Wednesday, gonna be miserable here.

On the subject of the blood moon, check out this picture my buddy took. He has an amazing camera and lenses.

The deer were out the field during the storm Saturday afternoon, haven't seen them since, they're hunkered down in the thicket!
