Guessers were right on with the 1-3 last night. Started around 6 and by 7:30 we had a parking lot in front of the house. :hair:The 1,000 foot hill just past our place had everyone in a tizzy. Can't wait for the ice on Saturday.:picard:

Lots of blowing snow. There is no way to keep roads clear with blowing deep snow. Blizzard conditions.

I filled the bird feeders yesterday afternoon. Now half empty. I usually go 3-4 days with a good fill up to those feeders. Birds are getting ready for the storm. They know when conditions will change.

There's not too much a person can do with that kind of forecast. That much snow just plain turns into no fun because of all the work. I end up going crazy thinking I'm 20 again trying to get everything done at one time and quickly realize that I need to do a bit , take a break, do a bit , take a break... until everything is clear hoping that the weight does not collapse something. Pittsburgh has not seen that kind of snow in quite a few years. I remember having to support an sagging aluminum awning with 2 x 4 's until I could get it cleaned off. The darn thing has 3 inch aluminum I - beams in three places!

Torn on putting the plow (Western w/Ultra Mount) on today or waiting until morning after running some errands. I hate driving around with the thing hanging on the front and a check I was expecting didn't come today so it will likely be here tomorrow. Wife is taking the car to her mom's before the mail gets here, leaving me with the truck.

We just did an oil change and lubed the auger shaft on the snow blower. I guess I can clear around the plow if needed. I have doubts this "storm" will live up to the hype. I do think we're going to catch some decent lake effect Sunday.

It is a real fine snowfall we are getting right now. So far, since the morning, its only been able to muster up one inch.

It's nice to be on the edge of things sometimes!

Accuweather has us and to the NE in 24"-36", locally up to 40" depending on if this storm wraps around on the backside, which I think the chances are greater in Maine onward to the northeast. Locally here, we should see 18"-24" are what most are saying. Well see soon I guess!

Enjoy it. If you look above the "O" in Montreal on that map, we are the little loop sticking above it. They are saying anywhere from 0-2" here.
