Kudos to the State of Alaska. Division of Forestry! Any other state would have went through a competitive bidding system resulting in a $2000 sign.

I saw a great big BearCat , think it was an 1100 or something humongous on the next size bigger red sled as what Rope is using . It was fuel injected, didn't have a backup starter and its battery was dead . A 570 BearCat towed it from where it was 20 some miles off the highway to where the guy had the pickup and trailer . The guy said it was a great machine. As long as the battery and electronics were good.
Not good enough to trust your life on imho!!

My wife and I try our hardest to make sure they will make it as adults. There so many skills that’s needed to make it. To many today depend on others for their survival. I am hoping we can send them into the world well rounded.
I agree with you how many skills from past generations are no longer common.

We don't have video gams at home. My kids think they are only at Chucky Cheese ( 425 miles away in Anchorage). I think the oldest may know.

May as well fill the youngster in on how to clean carbs. Change chaincase lube. Swap driveshaft bearings! Change drive belts etc. All the fun snowmobile stuff that uneducated folks do in the bitter cold. Post failure!

I remember many winters looking forward Yan excuse to go snowmobiling... And even feigned excitement about cutting wood... Still, I had fun and I remember those trips fondly

It is a good time using a sled to get a jag of wood. I need a set of bunks for my sleigh so I can make a bigger jag. Trying to get a few hours in before work in the morning.

Either your sled has good lighting, or you go to work a bit later than the rest of us

Every kid should be so lucky to have parents who "get it", like you and your wife. One day they'll thank you for letting them learn how to be strong. WTG Rope !

Thank You sir. He is making me proud today. He was chosen to play hockey on a Tier 3 traveling hockey team. He is a defensemen, in the first game of the year, he scored the winning goal in OT against the #1 seated team, things are getting real. I am waiting to get the updates on the other games of the tournament. Mom said he had a ton of saves, takeaways, blocked shots and one fight he's 9. Some crossed the blue line of the goalie, put the goalie on his but, and my boy ended that non sense.
