Awesome pics, and great hoard you got there! We had a little drift action down here in WV a little over a week ago; today it was 80 degrees and all of the cherry blossoms are out in force. Cheers to the arrival of spring, in whatever form it takes!

Yeah man...it was 76 on Saturday when I put my deposit down on the new Blaze King. Something didn't seem right about that.

    A question for you bogeydave.
I noticed in one of those close up shots that the top layer of splits had the bark facing up and below them all the rest had the bark down. Now I know you thought about this and did it on purpose, so...care to share the logic in that?
I'll guess that the lower pieces breathe better that way. On a warm day heat (and the moisture within) rises so having the bark up would slow the process down. Bark up on the top layer makes sense, kind of like a roof.

    Yea
That's my thoughts for bark down, it dries better
Water tight birch bark makes a good top cover the the wind don't blow away

No science to prove it though

Don't need science or a buttload of facts studies whatever. Your personal experience is the only thing that matters!!!

Psst: That's why they built canoes out of birch bark, It repels or holds water.

Looks like 16-17 section of the shed is still in good shape Bogy. Maybe your cut short wood hoarding last fall won't hurt after all.

I was thinking the same thing,
may not need to go do battle
with the bugs this spring to get 2 more cord.

    Great minds think alike :)

May go cut just got fun though :D
