Snowblowers, we have an ariens 24" compact model I bought new a few years ago. Probably 10 years ago?? It works great. I would buy no other brand as they really know how to make them. Sleds/ snowmobiles I've had every brand. Some good ones from every maker, but Arctic cat is the last one I would recommend, there's only a couple good ones of that brand, and even then they always needed bearings and other parts before the other brands. Sadly there's no more Yamaha snowmobiles being made. Last year was the last. We sold all of our sleds as of 2 years ago. We had usually 4 at a time. Maybe if winters get more reliable due snow I'll get another one or 2. Snowmobiling is literally some of the most fun you can have outdoors, especially with the trail system we have in northern Wisconsin.
24" Ariens snowblower I've had for a long time. Had another Ariens before that. Never even saw a snowblower growing up in Cincinnati. The garbage trucks would have little blades mounted under them to clear the roads. Never really saw much in the way of plows either. Now in the PRM (peoples republic of massachusetts) it's another story. I live on a street with 11 houses. 6 houses the owners have snow blowers and one guy has a plow. We help each other out of the worst storms. Been pretty mild the last few years though. I can't imagine not having a snow blower.
Toro 9 hp 2 stage I use it a lot I have the driveway and then a path out back from the deck to the stacks
28” Ariens with the made in China engine. Works great I was concerned about the made in China engine but have had zero probs in 6 years of use.
Did a lot of shoveling as a kid in NH but eventually we got a snowblower. Most people in my neck of the woods have one (or two, or three) and either have a plow attached to some kind of vehicle or know someone who does (or pays a contractor). I used an Ariens 8524 for around 22 years but picked up a new Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO at the start of last winter. I was just thinking about the circle of snow clearing yesterday (we had about 10" of snow). In the last 16 years at this house, I went from a snowblower to a plow on an ATV, to a plow on a SXS, to using the bucket/scraper blade on a tractor, to a front-mounted blower on a tractor, and now back to a snowblower. Winters can still be rough, but not like they used to be, so last year I started leaving the blower and subframe off the tractor so I can use the other implements over the winter. A snowblower isn't as sexy as using the tractor, but it does the job just fine.
Hmm..........so is this thread snowblowers or snowmobiles? I rode for a few years, but got rid of it 4 years ago. This was a heck of a day after fresh snow and this is on a trail.
