Nothing here yet, it's been so dry here this summer that it had me worried back here in the pines.

I see all these places getting hammered with rain but nothing here where we live.

It is hard for me to believe just how many schools are in session now... I do remember that when I was in the 8th grade (in the 50's) our school decided to open on August 25 or 26. Wouldn't you know, we had the hottest days of the summer that week... No air conditioning.

New fire south of us. Some days smoke blows away, others it blows our direction. It's a shame I've lost several unusually nice weather days here because the smoke is just too heavy to go outside. Today I had to turn the inside lights on from the smoke covered the sun and daylight, tonight we had small ashes falling here. Glad the unusual orange glow the sun gives off while trying to shine through the smoke does not bother me like it used to from the 2012 fires and evacuations.

Sorry you have to put up with that. It must be hard to stay inside on a nice day, because of the air quality.

I can imagine it has to be really tough to live with.
