I do not know,I always liked them because they took up smal space for good heat, reminds me of my younger daysFrom everything I have gathered (the net is wounderful) jay thelin ran a class act,and this is what happens later. Also over the last 2 years saw many posts of thelin dealers dropping the line, and you could only purchase parts from a dealer. As of the last few months, you can now order parts directly off home website. They are either going to ressurect the line or have do do this to provide support as required by fed. law.

Yeah, as a dealer we lost a lot of sales after they started offering parts online.

Just like the auto industry, perhaps you were marking them up too much?Just in the last 2 years stove shops that do not sell them can order and sell harman parts, they have learned.Seeing your signature, profile,I almost always have a bottle of makers mark on the counter for drop ins.

Well that's possible, I don't do the parts mark up, I just lay on my back with a headlamp on and install them lol. We haven't had much to do with Thelin in about 8 years though other than the occasional customer that comes in requesting one. Even with a gas, pellet and wood unit on the floor they were just kind of boat anchors for us unfortunately. I think they make a beautiful product myself.

If I'm ever in MT I'll have to "drop in" :drunk:

there's a few issues with the OEM offering parts online as well. Many folks here are pretty technically proficient, and often can call it right when they need a part. But in the overall scope of pellet stove users, that's pretty rare. Couple that with someone ordering the wrong part, trying to make their own repairs that they may not be qualified to do, then calling a tech in after the fact the fix it, can often cost more than just having someone do it. Also, from a dealer standpoint, its a source of lost profit when the manufacturer sells parts direct.
Thusly, we only install the stoves we sell, and we only install parts we provide.
