    I was driving through the middle of our little downtown square on the way to work this morning. They have some lights on year-round, but with the decorations up, I thought was very pretty. If y'all have some close to you, share the holiday spirit...

    What ever happened to colored lights at Christmas time? I just don't get the idea of putting up white lights at Christmas as it just looks like any other time of the year.

    The lights around the outline of the buildings, stay on all year. I do wish the other lights were different colors.

    Looks nice.

    Under streetlights (not stoplights) you may as well have white lights. Colored lights shine best in total darkness!

    It looks real nice T.Jeff Veal! Soon here we'll be doing a drive to look at lights everywhere, likely Sunday. Our first stop will be the town circle. I'll be sure to take pictures of the live nativity scene. It's the reason for the season!

    I love my small town of Stromsburg NE. Families and Businesses can decorate a tree or shrub in our square and it all got turned on Saturday evening after Thanksgiving. My family wasn’t able to attend due to a family get together, but folks shared some pics on fb so thought I’d share. The one pic I haven’t seen is of the 80 yr old+ nativity set. It’s all life size and was made by an artist who was traveling thru many years back. It’s had to be kept up as they are framed in metal and then built up and carved with resin I think

    I feel the same. To me Christmas was always a time of colour and that was one of the highlights of the season was seeing all the pretty colourful light displays.

    We headed to the town circle to see the live nativity scene, listen to the scriptures and caroling. So nice to see little the Shepard kids, the sheep, and the 3 kings play out when Christ was born. There were quite a few people, so this was the best picture I could get. I hope it is clear for y'all.

    We live in a logging community and right now the loggers' union is on strike with the only logging employer in town. I don't know if this was put up in support of the industry or if someone wasn't using his truck at this time but I thought you would like to see what our "downtown" lights look like this year.

    Normally a giant tree is cut, raised in a special stand and then decorated. After many years, the town now can decorate two large growing trees to provide the Christmas cheer. In the background our local Marine, Logging and Outdoor store created Christmas trees out of pallets and then outlined them in lights. They also stacked outboard engine covers in a tree formation and wrapped lights around them.

    Thanks...down here, we dont normally get any snow until late January-Feb if any at all. When we do, the bread and milk dont stand a chance...:rofl: :lol:
