Yes they are waiting for me to get my 3pt hitch Buzz saw and of coarse for the weather to cool off as I think it will be winter of 2020/21 before they see the fire box
Saw mill just over the the hill from us used to have some great slab wood. They cut it about 18 inches chunks because they used it them selves to heat their place and any employes could take it. Dad had a stake truck we just parked and as the cut up slabs landed in the back. about 5 tons worth for 5 bucks. they were cutting rail road ties then. When the rail road tie work dried up they went back to pallets, also started de barking the logs. All that with the saw dust was blowen into a semi trailer and sold to a wood burning power plant. Wasn't long and they started chipping up all the slabs and selling it to the power plant also. I have helped cut a lot of slab wood on a buzz rig. You can go thru a lot of bundles in a hurry cutting with a buzz rig and a couple fellows or gals to help. I also found out when burning slab wood you could get some long burns when you used care stacking it in the stove nice and tight. Al
