Late to the party here. Not 100% sure, but they may not make it for a "homeowner" saw. Stihl makes three levels of saws: Homeowner, farm/ranch, professional. If you need to upgrade an MS291 in the farm/ranch level will suit your needs fine. Its a good firewood saw. Of course being the enablers we are on here we'll tell you to get a pro model saw. I now own multiple pro model saws. I owned an MS290 (the earlier version of the 291) and cut a lot of "average" firewood with it and it gave me problem free service for many years. It will run the RS yellow chain. Best of luck with it and let us know what you do.
FIFY. I have 4, working on 5. Quality is better than quantity in this case. It would clog up in the cut. No room for chip to escape, or ride out of the kerf.
If you want to upgrade from a 251 and don't want the aforementioned 400, a 261 might be a great fit, it's a mid-size, pro saw around 50 cc; the 400 is 67 cc.
Buying new will usually save you headaches over buying used. You never know how it was treated or what actually needs fixing. I bought a used saw as "rebuilt" by a saw shop. That was a very loose definition of 'rebuilt'. It had a new piston and cylinder, but it was not done right and needed a complete rebuild before I could use it. That $100 "deal" turned into a $350+ job plus the original $100. I ported it, put a new piston, cylinder, bearings, seals, case, clutch, drum, rim, etc... It runs great now, but I likely would not have bought it if I had known what it would entail. I like some of the older saws, but a new one is new and has a warranty. just my 2 cents....
