If you're using a Battery Tender, get one of these cords and put it on the battery. That way you only need to plug it in. I have these on motorcycles and snowmobiles. Just leave the cord end hang out somewhere it's easy to get to.
Thanks TurboDiesel , there's a quick disconnect on the negative side so I'll see if I can do it on that side or if it's different. I don't have a problem with the clamps on our terminals so it's not a huge deal. I did buy a CarQuest battery charger today just for the tractor, I had a $15.00 credit for some stuff I returned. Advance Auto Parts - Down for Maintenance
Good to know I had it on my amazon Christmas list , I was going to buy it if I didn't get one , tired of buying batteries for the lawn tractor
Haha...I just checked my thermometer and thought it was broken because the outside temp was reading 1° I forgot that I had switched it to °F earlier today. Back to °C and -17.... Psychologically it felt better at 1° than -17°
LOL, reminds me of an encounter I had at a gas station in nowhere western Ontario many moons ago. I stopped for gas in a small town, the car was warm so I had my coat off and was out filling in a T shirt despite the chilly temps. Another gentleman commented that it was dangerous to not be wearing a coat when the temps were below zero. I said oh I don’t think it is anywhere near that cold yet. How cold do you think it is he asked. Feels like upper teens I replied. About 5 minutes later it dawned on me that he was speaking C and I was speaking f! If he didn’t realize I was a stupid American, he must have thought I was completely loony thinking it was in the upper teens C while it was actually well below freezing. Ooops! Anyway, I do think there is a definite psychological advantage to having positive Fahrenheit values below freezing. The leading minus sign can be very depressing.
That only works for pure water at “standard” sea level pressure. A more sensible scale is Kelvin. Start with 0 at the absolute coldest temp and get rid of the psychologically damaging minus sign altogether. Who doesn’t feel warmer at 253 than at -20? Heck, just saying 253K makes me feel so warm I am sweating.
We were at 7 a little while ago. Now it's 13. In NE Ohio, Lake Effect speak, that means snow is coming.
I was in Timmins a few years about this time. Is was pretty dang cold. Two or three years ago I was up at the Musclewhite Gold Corp mine and -42°C was the coldest I experienced. It was dead calm though, so it really wasn't that bad.
Northern Ontario can get pretty cold. White River Ontario recorded -58°C (-73°F) in the 30's. Ironically enough, I've also been in Timmins during the summer when it was the hottest place in the Country. There was a few day stretch a couple of summers ago that with the humidity the temperatures didn't drop below 100°F even at night
Still single digits for highs & lows F° (FYI: -40° F & C are the same) 1° last night 4° here now, Warmer temps coming, usually means snow
