11 this morning. Upper 20's now. No sunshine and just a very light hint of flurries every now and then. Last half of next week, its supposed to hit the 40's!!!
We had 26 this morning with four inches of new snow, the Liberty saw more sugar and soft maple this morning.
It's 27 heading down to 21 tonight so we have a nice load of beech and sugar maple going. The pellet stove is unplugged for the year, we brought home 52 bags but only burned 47 this heating season.
It's 29 heading to 25 tonight with about 3-4 inches of snow, we have a mixture of beech, soft & sugar maple in the Liberty for the overnight burn.
We had 7 at dawn. My indoor wood reserve is getting low, I love winter but hope spring is coming soon.
Not really that cold for Maine, but note the disparity between the indoor and outdoor temperature: a difference of 90 degrees. I can only imagine my ancestors some 200 years ago only imagining they could step through the front door of their log cabins dug into a hillside, and having a temperature swing that extravagant. Not to mention our homes being 8 times the size!!
You're welcome! Had the same thing here for a couple overnights and looks like it took just a few days to get out there.....
We're at 33 tonight so we'll go with some soft maple with about three splits of beech. We still have four splits of oak left so we'll burn two splits on Saturday and Sunday night with some beech, it's suppose to drop down between 17 - 19 each night. We still have just under two face cord of shoulder season wood we planned on burning this year along with just under two face cord of beech, sugar maple and soft maple that we had planned on burning.
