Looks like it will miss the lake area by 50 - 100 miles. HOWEVER The snow blower is gassed & ready, couple hundred pounds of pellets are within easy reach, backup power is on alert, and we are mentally prepared.
Thought I'd bump this back up since we'll be in negative temps this weekend. I have a couple bags lined up of PTL softies and then will probably roast some LaCrete after that.....only if I have too, don't want to waste them
Vermonts in the P68, Vanderhoofs in the P43. This cold snap is two stove weather around here. Burn em if ya got em!
Sets are doing fine. Woke up sweatin this AM. Gotta try an avoid burnin em all up and get us some shoulder stuff to ride out the spring.
I hope I will burning Blazers. I am away in Florida and am depending on the BIL to keep the hopper filled.
Hmmm, since you are away I might send >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> especially for Blazers
Absolutely. They don't do you any good laying on the floor......... It was 1° here this morning, and it's going to be colder next couple of days... What the heck would we be waiting for to burn your best stuff?? It was cold enough here for me to touch the stove off in the shop. I have stuff in there I do not want to see freeze.. Haven't done it but a couple of times this season.. It was 30 in there yesterday... dumped some DF's in it yesterday pm, this morning it was 60° in there... Nice!! There are two cars in there... that is a lot of mass to bring up to temp... Dan
Turned the ThermGuard on yesterday to run the FHW every 6 hours to keep the pipes in the garage from freezing. Loaded DF's in the Cellar Dweller and Vermont's into the main floor stove. None of that stuff will hit the fire until sometime tomorrow. Looks like I will have timed it just about right as Sunday morning and Monday Morning are slated to be the cold ones.
EasyBlaze SYP in the hopper till Monday at least. i have a hydro-air heat ex-changer in the attic for upstairs zone of the oil burner. it hasn't run this winter at all. but it has water in it, which has concerns me when burning pellets. i insulated the sh$% out of it and kept the plumbing super short but i still woke up this morning with a little worry in my head. the coil lies in the duct work and thus is warmed by the heat from below and i had the HVAC guy install the 40 degree no freeze fix that is supposed to start the circulater and open the zone valve. BUT it has not been tested. sooo i worry a bit. I set a hold of 64 degrees on it, and might up that to 65 for Sat night just to circulate the water in the system a couple of times. I'll sleep better. Oh, and i closed the automatic water feed to the system so if something bursts, it will not continue to pump water into the house....
That sounds like a good plan , I might go as far to make sure that it does run , test it now and really sleep good
At this rate I'm going to have certain pellets for years......Turman, PTL softies, LaCrete....hope they don't go bad
