Wow! We're not even close to thinking about planting anything!
It started to warm up, but then the snow started falling, temps hovering around freezing last few weeks
Its added about an additional month to the heating season
Normally, farmers have crops in, or in the process, things are turning green

Still plenty of chilly mornings and raw days ahead here.

The wood stove has more SS wood to consume.

I had mine shut down and the plan was to have the gas boiler kick in for the final stretch but for some reason, the blower shut off when the gas heater was running but it runs fine with the wood boiler going...

I'll probably burn mine most of the summer for DHW. Propane prices are still high enough to make it worth my time. I fire it once a day, let it get to 180, then shut it off. The next day it will be down to 110 - 120...rinse and repeat.

I am going to try that this year as well. My only hang up is they say you should not let your boiler fall under 140 degrees as few time as possible. Boiler shock I think they call it. What’s your thoughts?

Boiler shock is when the return temp is much lower than the boiler temp. Dumping cold water on a hot engine. If everything is 140 not a big deal.
