MAF143 In your second picture you have a log supported by a chain. What is the rest of the story? What is the chain hooked to? Thanks
Chain is hooked to the boom on the tractor. I lift up the end of the log with the chain on the boom so it's easy to either noodle pie slices or plunge cut into the end of the log depending on which style of candle I'm making. The log is easy to rotate with the cant hook and it keeps me from bending over all day making those cuts. I cut them off the log once all the other cuts are made. It's way easier to make a bunch off the end of a raised log than doing just one laying on the ground. I don't have a FEL with a thumb so I improvise with the tools I have. These pine ones don't last very long but they are great for just a couple beers... If I'm planning on a whole six pack, I use a candle made out of Ash... LOL If it's windy out, the plunge cut ones work better than the fully open noodled ones.
This is down the road from our camp, so it’s not mine. It’s about 150’. across. From a mill that was closed in about 1900. It looks like a big sand dune In the middle of the woods. Grout Job, 1376 Stratton Arlington Rd, Stratton, VT 05360
