Ray.. if you're anything like me you prolly can't even begin to think about retirement. But, the time (as you know) will go quickly and hopefully you can join the ranks of the retired sometime as you sneak up on your early 60s. I will turn 64 this month and retired last year. Man is it nice to be out of the rat race.
A picture of our Victorian decorated dining room right before our feast...... have a pic on the camera of the actual dinner at home, but not on my phone...... I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family....I know we certainly did!
Congrats on the anniversary. Looks like you folks had a nice meal and celebration. Hope you have many more and stay well to enjoy them!
Thank you much! We're trying. I've got a few new parts installed, but they are working pretty well. The wife is doing well too, she is older than me, and will be 67 in January but she is in very good health. So, ...one day at a time. Got some snow where you are yet?
Good luck to you. I hung on by my fingernails with lay-offs all around me for many years. it's incredibly hard for younuns just starting out, and us oldsters trying to retire.
I think I'll do OK Steve.. Work for a very big company.. 4.5 more years and I get company assisted medical when I retire so that's the plan.. Ray
Yes, it is white out there. I am hoping it will melt. I still have a few things to put away. Haven't been feeling too well, so I just putz away at things, then take a nap. It was funny this afternoon, I said it was nap time and the two labs headed right into the bedroom! They follow me everywhere. Can't even shower without one of them poking its head in.
And every dog I've had insists on sticking his nose under the bathroom door while your sitting on the throne, with a couple good sniffs and then a sneeze. Doesnt get much loyaler than that!
"labs are just the greatest" Nap time...nose in the shower curtain... wouldn't have them any other way these are my guys...Turbo is the yellow, Diesel is the chocolate
Off topic for Thanksgiving feast, but I am thankful for these two. They are indeed my buddies. I went with Labs because of their temperament. I got them from private breeders and was able to meet the parents. I am too old for trying to straighten out nasty behavior. My labs chew about anything. but they are lovable. I can put my hand in their mount and take something out I don't want them to have, and they don't even growl. They are excellent with the grandchildren, except for bumping them over. When I don't feel well, they are right at my side or feet every moment they can be. I spend a lot of money on special food and treats to make sure none is imported, or has by products, or those filler grains. my chocolate lab had his ACL fixed. I have him on some meds to keep his arthritis from bothering him. Plus my daughter brings her two dogs over every other day or two for them all to play together. Lots of company.
